Jalal El Hakmaoui (Morocco)

Born in 1965, a Morocco poet, translator, film critic and freelance journalist. Currently Hakmaoui is the consultant for television 2M and documentary film festival of Agadir, the director of House of Literary Translators and the first International Poetry site in Morocco: www.electronlibre.ma. He has published poetry books in Morocco, France, Belgium: Certificat de Célibat, Allez un peu au cinéma, Ce que je n’ai pas dit à Al Pacino, Bruxellesen.Perfectday and Prose volumes: Essays on Belin, Essays on modern Moroccan Cultures (coauthor). He is a translator of French and Belgian literature: Selected works of William Cliff, Françoise Lalande’s Ils venaient du nord, Jean-Luc Wauthier’s 5 visages, Eugène Savitzkaya’s Cœur de Schiste, Lorand Gaspar’s Sol absolu, Edouard Glissant’s Sel noir. He has also translated poems of Allen Ginsberg, Edmond Jabès, Nuno Júdice.
