Born in 1958, a Polish poet, literature professor, translator and publisher. Lebioda, currently, is the literature professor at Kazimierz Wielki University in Bydgoszcz. He has published almost 50 books – from poetry, biographies, historical studies to essays and scientific monograph. He is one of the most famous poets of Polish “New Generation”(1950s). He is the recipient of many Polish literary prizes, including: Andrzej Bursa’s Award, Stanisław Wyspiański’s Award, Klemens Janicki’s Award and Bruno’s Award, Hulewicz Award. His works have been translated into English, German, French, Spanish, Russian, Japanese, Chinese, Arabic, Ukrainian and Hebrew, etc. He has translated and introduced poetry from the U.S., Greece, Arab countries, Croatia, Switzerland, Lithuania and Japan. He is the guest at many literary events in Europe, USA, China, Kurdistan, Iraq and has received the Crystal of Kurdistan (2011). Lebioda is also the President of a new European Prize – Homer Medal of Poetry and Art.
