Ya Yan and Dou Beng are students of grade 2 in a leading senior high school of the city  they live. In spite of distinctly different characters, the two girls who are both brought up by single parent still become intimate friends. Ya Yan has a strong admiration for Jiang Du, her art teacher. And Dou Beng holds affection for  Chen Simin, the grade-3 student in the same school. Like still water, the superficially quilt days are scoured by invisible waves. There are also untold facts and truths throughout controlling their lives. One is that Jiang Du’s father is the first love of Ya Yan’s mother. Decades ago, Du’s father, Jiang Weilan, left Ya Yan’s mother and married another girl so as to return the favor to a comrade-in-arms who died for rescuing him. Another relation matters is that Chen Simin’s mother, Ms Lan, is the teacher in charge of the class Ya and Dou are studying. In past years, she has been endeavoring to cultivate her son into top talent. When recommended for admission to Tsinghua University, Simin is missing and then found in Beijing Dragon Spring Temple.
